Travel formalities during Covid-19

 

All travel formalities listed below must be followed by all passengers prior to, during and on arrival of your flight. Before your flight, check the travel documentation needed for your destination.

IMPORTANT : It is the passenger's responsibility to comply with the health, immigration and travel rules issued by the relevant authorities of the countries of departure, transit and arrival in your itinerary. A number of information links are available below. We invite you to read them carefully.

Depending on your destination, from the age of 6, a surgical mask may still be required during all phases of your journey from check-in to destination for all passengers traveling on an Aircalin-operated flight. Fabric or washable masks are not permitted.

Formalities by destination

To New Caledonia

As of Monday, August 1, 2022, all sanitary requirements to New Caledonia are lifted, according to the Decree 2021-699.

Note: For flights to New Caledonia, masks are mandatory only for flights departing from Singapore.

To Metropolitan France

As of Monday, August 1, 2022, all sanitary requirements to Metropolitan France are lifted, according to the Decree 2021-699.

Note: For transit passengers, according to the Japanese rules, from the age of 6, a surgical mask is mandatory during all phases of your journey from check-in to destination for all passengers traveling on board a flight operated by Aircalin. Cloth or washable masks are not permitted.

To Australia

IMPORTANT: Changing travel restrictions:

  • Removal of pre-departure testing since April 18, 2022;
  • Removal of mandatory vaccinations as of July 6, 2022;
  • Removal of the DPD Digital Passenger Declaration as of July 6, 2022;
  • Removal of self-tests on arrival as of July 6, 2022.

However, you must have a valid visa: eVisitor Subclass 651 visa for EU citizens, ETA Subclass 601 visa for non-EU citizens.

In accordance with Australian regulations, from the age of 6, a surgical mask must be worn during all phases of your journey from check-in to destination for all passengers traveling on a flight operated by Aircalin. Cloth or washable masks, are not permitted.

To New Zealand

Completely vaccinated persons will no longer be required to perform a Covid-19 test.

 

As of Monday, 2nd May 2022, New Zealand reopens its borders to all fully vaccinated travelers without mandatory isolation on arrival. This obligation applies to people over 17 years of age ( except for medical contraindications). 

Find below, the list of vaccines approved by the New Zealand government:

Unvaccinated: Only unvaccinated New Zealand citizens and permanent residents, will be allowed to enter New Zealand.

For non-vaccinated persons, a PCR test less than 48 hours or an antigen test less than 24 hours will be requested.

A valid visa will also be required on arrival.

Finally, for all travelers to New Zealand, you must complete a traveller declaration form (NZTD)

In order to complete this form, required up to 48 hours prior to your flight, please bring along:

  • Your flight number and arrival date in New Zealand;
  • Your passport;
  • Your proof of tests and vaccination;
  • Emergency contact information.

Transit in New Zealand: From 20 June, if you are transiting through New Zealand you will no longer need to be vaccinated, nor be required to complete a New Zealand Traveller Declaration (NZTD).

To French Polynesia

As of Monday, August 1, 2022, all sanitary requirements to French Polynesia are lifted, according to the Decree 2021-699.

Note: Masks are no longer mandatory on our flights to French Polynesia. However, it remains an effective way to protect yourself and others.

To Singapore

To travel to Singapore you must: 

  • from the age of 12, provide proof of a complete vaccination schedule (two doses or certificate of recovery with at least 1 dose) performed at least 2 weeks before arrival ;
  • present an electronic Singapore Arrival Card with Health Declaration (eHDC) obtained within 3 days before arrival. Obtaining an Arrival Card ;
  • from the age of 6, wear a surgical type mask before, during and after the flight, including during check-in and baggage claim.

For unvaccinated people, entry to Singapore is only possible on exceptional reasons. You will also need to respect a 7-day isolation upon arrival and must purchase Covid-19 insurance.

Note: Please be advised that electronic cigarettes are not permitted in Singapore, in transit and at Changi Airport. Therefore, please ensure that you do not carry electronic cigarettes either on your person, in your carry-on luggage, or in your checked luggage.

To Vanuatu

For all passengers to Vanuatu, a negative Covid-19 PCR test done less than 72 hours before departure or a antigen test done less than 24 hours or a positive PCR or antigen test at least 8 days but no more than 2 months before departure will be required. 

It is strongly recommended to be vaccinated against COVID-19, but unvaccinated persons are also allowed to travel to Vanuatu.

To Wallis and Futuna

From Noumea to Wallis and Futuna

  • Passengers traveling from New Caledonia to Wallis and Futuna: 
    • Must perform a PCR test within 72 hours prior to the departure flight at the Beaurivage Hotel in Noumea on Wednesdays and Fridays from 6:00 am to 8:00 am;
    • An antigenic test (AG) is performed at the airport on the day of departure before check-in or in the transit area. Present yourself early enough, opening time H-3:30;
    • In Wallis, respect a 3-day home confinement and at the end of the 3-day period, submit to an antigenic test, the negativity of which will condition the release from confinement;
    • For non-vaccinated persons, travel is subject to compelling medical, professional or family reasons.

 

  • It is mandatory to wear a surgical mask during all phases of your journey from check-in to your destination. Please note that this requirement applies to all passengers 6 years of age and older.

From Nandi to Wallis and Futuna

  • Passengers traveling from Fiji to Wallis and Futuna: 
    • Must complete a PCR test within 72 hours prior to takeoff;
    • Must perform an antigen test (AG) on the day of departure;
    • In Wallis, respect a 3-day home confinement and at the end of the period, submit to an antigenic test whose negativity will condition the departure;
    • For non-vaccinated persons, travel is subject to compelling medical, professional or family reasons.
       
  • It is mandatory to wear a surgical mask during all phases of your journey from check-in to destination. Please note that this requirement applies to all passengers aged 6 and over.
To Fidji

Passengers traveling from New Caledonia or Wallis and Futuna to Fiji must:

  • Be fully vaccinated from the age of 16;
  • Subscribe to a Covid-19 insurance;
  • Perform an antigen test upon arrival in Nandi.

Unvaccinated : Unvaccinated persons, are not allowed to travel to Fiji except for exceptional reasons.

Other destinations

The passengers travelling to a non french country and requested to show a negative covid 19 PCR test for their travel, need to make sure to have a both french and english translation of the test. The translation of the document can be requested at the test center.
